Terrace Styles: The Modern Era
Essentially, 2000 to the present day, the modern era arguably represents the very best in terrace wear. The modern era includes the tail end of the Urban Protection series, particularly the very impressive LED pictured below. Meanwhile, Massimo Osti designed the ICD+ range for Levis/Phillips for the urban professional. Under-rated by the chaps at the time, the Storage Courier Jacket is likely to come to the fore in the future. Even without the direct involvement of Osti, CP Company released some of its very best pieces during the modern era. In particular, the Vulcanised Mille Miglia, as featured on the front cover of Phil Thornton’s “Casuals”, and the Aitor Throup Anniversary Mille Miglia, arguably the finest Mille Miglia ever released, surpassing even the 1988/89 versions of this iconic jacket. On the Stone Island front, the White Badge series became increasingly prominent, releasing some high impact pieces such as the Prismatica, the 2010 Reflective, and the Tyvek. The pinnacle of Stone Island achievement was reached with its release of the 30th Anniversary 30/30 jacket, followed closely by the 2014 Hand-Painted Camo. We should also note that Marina re-appeared during the modern era, as reflected in the release of the superlative Heat Reactive jacket in 2014. Finally, Boneville has re-emerged as a major force, releasing the impressive Pilot Master jacket in 2014. The price tag of many of these pieces is not for the faint hearted, but this is what differentiates the dresser from the mere tourist. Can you cut the mustard?
